Lead Hyperion Essbase / Hyperion Planning Consultant

Job Description:

Finit Solutions, recognized in 2009 and 2010 as one of the 100 fastest growing private companies in greater Philadelphia, is seeking candidates with strong backgrounds in Essbase and Hyperion Planning to lead the design and implementation of Essbase and Hyperion Planning solutions.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years’ experience implementing these systems and/or acting as an Essbase and/or Planning administrator. The ideal candidate also has a deep understanding of the budget and forecast process and related internal management reporting requirements. Responsibilities include designing and building Essbase and Planning applications as well as project management, documentation and knowledge transfer to clients. You will be interfacing onsite directly with clients and working with client personnel and other Finit consultants on the implementation of these systems. You will be helping clients implement Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion BI+ reporting tools, and Oracle Hyperion integration tools (Financial Data Quality Management (FDM), Data Integration Management (DIM), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), etc).

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in an IT-related field of study. Candidates with a Finance or Accounting degree but strong IT skills will be accepted.
• 3-10 years experience in Hyperion Essbase and / or Hyperion Planning, including experience in:
  • Building outlines
  • Calc Scripts / Business Rules
  • Report development (Financial Reporting, Web Analysis, Smart View, Excel Add-In)
  • Security
  • Some database optimization. Familiarity with ASO and BSO Essbase apps.
  • Esscmd, Maxl experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases, including SQL query experience.
• Strong knowledge of VB.NET, VBA or VB script.
• Full project cycle experience (design through rollout.) This includes leading all phases and designing / working independently without needing to have requirements vetted by someone else.
• CPA, MBA or other relevant higher education a plus.
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting a plus.
• Consulting experience a plus.
• Passion to expand current knowledgebase and learn new skills.
• Ability to excel in a demanding, change-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Organized, thorough, detail-oriented.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Friendly and personable attitude with clients; absence of ego or condescension.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 days per week
  (total expected travel is 60 - 80%).
