Requirements Gathering Workshops

Before the process of building a Planning solution begins, Finit devotes a great deal of time to the task of gathering requirements from a client. More so than external financial reporting solutions, requirements gathering for a Planning solution have the added dimension of having very few external mandates to base the design on. Planning solutions are basically built for one main purpose – to give firms the ability to gather, consolidate, and analyze data that will enable them to look at the predicted performance of their business in the coming months, quarters, or years. The mechanics of how this is done can differ greatly from firm to firm, even within similar industries.

During these requirements workshops, Finit gathers input from all parties involved – end users, power users, regional and corporate finance – to uncover the particular attributes of the current forecasting process while also focusing on identifying any aspects from the current process that the stakeholders might feel is missing.

After the workshop Finit begins designing the solution to address the requirements that were gathered. However, Finit does not build this solution in a laboratory; during the entire design & build process, the client is involved every step of the way. Before going live with a solution, Finit will employ prototypes for initial validation of the design, user acceptance testing for a more in depth review, and finally end user training to be sure all in the organization are aware of the solution and its capabilities.
